Have any problems with my initial setup?
Hello, my name is Liam, I'm 11 years old, working on my first build, and have run into a few issues. I've connected all the wires as instructed and still get no sign of life when I turn it on. I have tested the power supply, an Apevia Premier 650w, using the paper clip test. It is working fine. I have tested continuity on my power switch, it worked fine. My motherboard is a cheap Gigabyte B550M K so I assumed it was defective and sent it back for testing. They told me there was nothing wrong with it and sent it back. I am at a loss at what to do next, does anyone have any recommendations? I have checked all the posts I can and no one seems to have had the same problem, I also went through all the steps in this post. https://forums.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! I've checked the power supply, an Apevia Premier 650w, using the paper clip test. It's functioning properly. The paper clip test is unnecessary because it only confirms the PSU can deliver power, not the actual output capacity. When sharing a troubleshooting thread, it's important to provide full system specifications. Please list details such as: CPU, CPU cooler, motherboard, RAM, SSD/HDD, GPU, PSU, chassis, OS, monitor, and include the age of the PSU along with its make and model. Also, note the BIOS version for your motherboard at this time.

Have you attempted to remove the motherboard from the case, just connect the PSU, cooler, CPU and memory onto it, and try booting by short-circuiting the boot pins? If the case has any partitions that touch the back of the motherboard, the board could get shorted and won't start.
Setting up a powerful PC is my childhood dream, and I finally understood it when I was 21. After one and a half years, I discovered it's my favorite hobby and so far I've assembled 14 different PCs. Congratulations, you're very lucky to build one at 11!
