In short, I'm looking for a fresh game with a new twist, especially something with battle royale elements. I've spent nearly 100 hours on RE2 Remake and it's great, but I need something that's engaging, enjoyable, and offers solid progression. A turn-based RPG or a horror title would suit me well. I'm open to other genres if they're really strong.

If you enjoy action/horror titles such as Resident Evil 2, then Metro Exodus will impress you. The initial segments can be slow, but once you enter the open spaces it becomes exciting with mouse and keyboard.

Hey there! Just a quick joke—playing Alien Isolation is probably one of my top horror favorites lately. If you're into turn-based games, you might also like For The King.

You might enjoy Nier Automata, it's a great game, or Witcher 3 if you haven't tried it yet.
from my recollection around 2018, I don't remember any good games that really drew me into their worlds for PC, though there are many on consoles, but I don't own one.
it's disappointing.
but 2019 could be a promising year for gaming, with Devil May Cry 5 arriving in under two weeks and Metro Exodus also on the horizon.

I haven't tried any of the other Metro titles. Maybe starting with those would be a good idea. The Evil Within and Devotion seem promising too. I already have DMC5, just hoping it comes out soon. (Thanks, AMD!)

I strongly suggest all three Metro titles. The initial version has some rough design elements, yet it remains an immersive and thrilling experience. Versions 1 and 2 also received a redesign with enhanced visuals.

Other RPG options include Valkyria Chronicles, I Am Setsuna, Resonance of Fate, and the Legends of Heroes series. For crafting enthusiasts, The Atelier series could be worth exploring despite its somewhat cute anime presentation. Final Fantasy remains a constant presence. In the horror genre, consider The Metro series, Shadow of Chernobyl with mods, Call of Pripyat, Alan Wake, Dead Space, FEAR, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, and State of Decay.

If you're seeking a horror title, Alan Wake can be a good option when it's on sale. For an RPG experience, Ni No Kuni Revenant Kingdom might appeal. If you want something entirely different, Subnautica is a survival game set on an ocean world.
