Hello, on Friday I built my second PC and everything worked perfectly. The boot process was smooth. I followed the standard procedures, like turning on Expo and adjusting settings. After installing Windows, I checked the system stability. That’s when I experienced the first crash during Cinebench, even though temperatures were normal. After several tries, I realized disabling Expo helped—my RAM would run at 4800 MHz instead of the default. With Expo off, the crashes stopped after 5 to 10 minutes in Cinebench, Time Spy, or Heaven Benchmark. Even a Memtest86 run with Expo enabled unexpectedly caused a crash. At that point, I thought the problem was related to RAM. But I still wanted to play games without Expo, so I installed "It Takes Two" and FIFA. I noticed audio issues and stuttering in FIFA, which led to another crash. Now I’m unsure if the issue is with the RAM or something else. My BIOS was updated on Friday, and the PSU is a quiet 850W. The graphics card is a 16GB XFX Radeon RX 6950 XT. Windows 10 22H2 Minidumps.rar

Disabling EXPO doesn't always guarantee stability on Ryzen systems in certain situations. I'm not sure why this happens, especially with DDR4. At least set the DRAM voltage to the manufacturer's suggested value, even if you're running at 4800. If you turn EXPO back on, verify it's applying the right voltage. By "crash" do you mean a system failure? With the minidumps file attached, I assume you're referring to BSODs. Have you checked that your memory is installed in the proper slots per the motherboard manual? What speed does your RAM operate at when EXPO is active? Are you connecting your graphics card via a riser cable or directly to the slot? It seems your issue might stem from both memory settings and other factors. Have any of these parts been swapped between systems, or are they brand new? Have you attempted power limiting or underclocking the GPU? Is the CPU overclocking enabled in any way?

Thank you for sharing your experience. It sounds like you're dealing with some unusual system behavior. I've noticed the screen issues and power management quirks you mentioned. Let me know if you'd like to discuss possible solutions or troubleshooting steps.

The two crashes in the dumps relate to Clock_Watchdog_Timeouts. These aren't RAM errors but are more typical with an unstable CPU due to overclocking or undervoltage. Crashes during memtest often occur with CPU problems as well. Check the BIOS for PBO (Precision Boost Overdrive) and disable it if present, as it can cause aggressive overclocking that many CPUs struggle with. If the crashes persist, the CPU is likely the culprit. A monitor resolution of 1440p or higher may trigger a Windows bug, causing visual issues in the BSOD screen—such as blacking out briefly. If disabling PBO reduces the BSOD but freezing continues, examine the PSU and/or motherboard. If the problem remains, please supply fresh dump files.

The issue stems from the motherboard design. Here’s how it breaks down:
1. With the 1070, your setup functions perfectly—no crashes or BSODs.
2. With the 6950 XT and PSU in another machine, everything runs smoothly too.
Possible reasons:
- The new PC consumes more power than the Ryzen 5 1600, causing instability with the same PSU.
- The 6950 XT might have compatibility issues (B).
- Software glitches—drivers or monitoring tools could be faulty ©.
- Hardware limitations: CPU and/or memory can’t handle full load as effectively (D).

Solutions to consider:
- Turn off PBO and run the CPU at base speed (A).
- Reset with a fresh install, removing all software and using official drivers ©.
- Adjust PCI-E settings to 3.0 (B)—may help or hinder.
- Update to an older driver like 22.5.1 (D).
- Try a different HDMI audio driver as recommended.

After turning off PBO, crashes stopped, but the system is still very slow. Audio stutters and videos freeze unexpectedly during FIFA games. I’m also seeing better results on Cinebench R23 lately.

I've reinstalled Windows and tested Fortnite and CS:GO for hours with and without PBO. There were no crashes overall, though I noticed some audio issues in Fortnite—occasional sound glitches and a frozen background video. I'm playing at high settings and 1440p. If you're experiencing similar problems, it might be worth checking your audio drivers or trying a different game mode. Just let me know if you need more help!

I’m attempting this now. I’m looking for a solution to fix the problems with FIFA. Using a USB headset instead of monitor speakers.

Great news. It seems your system is dealing with some background issues while you play. Browser hardware acceleration can often lead to complications, and services like Discord might experience similar challenges.
