I purchased an RGB Corsair Vengeance LX RAM (16GB, 30,000 MHz) and encountered issues such as the blue screen of death and frequent restarts. After running a memory diagnostic, a hardware fault was identified. Once I let it restart, testing with Rainbow Six Siege showed normal performance. The RAM is only two days old and was installed carefully. It seems the problem might be resolved, but I should confirm whether replacement is necessary or if everything will work fine.

It seems the specifications are set, but I’m curious—are the BIOS details current? Also, do you recall the exact message that appeared during the blue screen?

The stop code was MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. I’m not very familiar with BIOS settings, and I’m unsure how to verify it after seeing a message about a memory issue pop up unexpectedly.

Yes, XMP is enabled and all components are current. The BIOS, Windows, drivers, and hardware configuration are up to date. The motherboard and CPU used are [insert details].

Gigabyte Auorus b450 ryzen 5 2600 (stock cooler) doesn’t understand what XMP is. Windows is current, the drivers are fine, but I’m not sure about BIOS updates. If needed, I don’t know how to handle that.

Your RAM operates at 2133Mhz, and if DOCP/XMP is turned off, it shouldn't cause any issues. Unfortunately, I haven't used Gigabyte BIOS before, but you can check their site or YouTube for instructions on enabling XMP.

Yes, turning on XMP will likely resolve the issue you're experiencing.

I also wanted to ask why the BIOS might slow down your RAM performance and what settings are needed to get the best results. Also, thank you for your help—could you clarify why the RGB lights only appear on part of your RAM?

you mentioned using XMP to ensure your RAM operates at its intended capacity. without it, you'd be essentially squandering the investment in a 3000Mhz motherboard since it would only run at around 2133Mhz. most likely you'll find them operating closer to 2933Mhz, which is the nearest frequency your card supports. support includes DDR4 variants at speeds like 3600, 3466, 3200, 2933, 2667, or 2400/2133 MHz as indicated by the Gigabytes website for RAM compatibility. any speed above 2133Mhz is essentially an overclock that needs manual activation. if you're using corsairs iCue, make sure it's installed correctly—go to settings, update software in the settings area at the bottom right, and follow the instructions. click on "vengence pro rgb" and check the firmware; if it says you have the latest version, proceed to force an update (the option will appear near the update button). this process may need repeated attempts until everything functions properly (i had to do it several times). also, verify your RAM slots match the manual specifications if you're still experiencing stability or RGB issues. if problems persist, reach out to Corsair and confirm your RAM model is compatible. thank you for your patience.
