Hey, you're dealing with a tricky situation. Your PC seems to shut down unpredictably—sometimes twice a day, other times it runs smoothly for days. There was an incident recently when you tried to power it back on right after a shutdown; you noticed a burning smell and smoke coming from the top, plus some strange cracking sounds. You decided to take it apart that day but didn’t see any obvious damage. When you restarted it, it worked fine, and temperatures checked out normally.

It’s interesting you mentioned a previous issue with a 590RAM model, which required an RMA due to GPU-related crashes during intense gaming sessions. Could there be a link between your PSU and the problems? It’s possible your PSU might not be delivering enough power consistently. You might want to double-check the PSU’s capacity or health, especially if you’re using high-end components.

It seems the power supply might lack sufficient wattage. The smoke isn’t just from normal use—there’s something more going on. Are you performing intensive operations before it powers off?

Sure, that's what you meant. The GPU was really using power, which might be why your 590RX stopped working. It seems to need a lot of energy, but I'm not entirely sure about the PSU without more experience.

I've got a bit of confusion here. I borrowed a 750W Corsair TX 80 Gold+ and it's happening again. When I try to turn my PC on, every time I press the power button, I hear a click sound and nothing happens. The CPU and GPU temperatures were normal before, and the RGB on the motherboard is still working. I also tried unplugging the GPU before starting up, but that didn't help.

If you detected a burning smell and smoke from your PC, it suggests a component failed. I’d disassemble it carefully to examine parts like capacitors and other elements, since the new PSU isn’t working—indicating another issue exists.

I experienced the issue once before, couldn't locate a solution and the computer ran smoothly for about five days. No lasting harm appears to have happened. It might be a bad extension cord or perhaps it's time to contact an electrician.

There was another strange update. I used an old PSU and it started working for the first time. Then I switched back to my new PSU and it functioned properly again. Except the power button only turns it on, not off. I’m really confused about what’s happening.

It might be the Windows power configuration, you could attempt to modify it.
