These strange occurrences seem to affect me unexpectedly. The driver updates don't make a difference.

It also works with my GTX 780...just switch tabs while playing and return, that fixes it (works on my machine).
Use alt-enter to launch the game into window mode instead of alt-tab as I mentioned before. Then repeat alt-enter to return to fullscreen, which should resolve the problem temporarily.
