Hi everyone,
I recently bought the Avermedia 2 Plus Capture Card and everything has been fine so far – capturing PC and Xbox videos without issues. However, today it’s stopped working on certain games while still functioning on others.
My main games are sim racing/driving titles (Project Cars 2, AMS2, Assetto Corsa, Euro Truck Sim), but with PC2, I get a constant red light as soon as the game loads. Yesterday I was able to record footage perfectly, so it seems the problem started recently.
I’ve shut down the PC multiple times, removed cables, tried different ports, but I haven’t deleted the drivers for the capture card. I checked the device manager but didn’t find any Avermedia-related entries.
Any suggestions on how to fix this? It’s a bit confusing since it only works on some games.

***UPDATE***
I removed then reinstalled the game to another drive to check if that would resolve the problem, but it didn't. However, while playing, I adjusted some settings and restarted the game, and the blue light returned to indicate it's ready for recording.
So that resolved it – I have no idea why, but it works now.

It could be that particular capture device monitors performance in the background and waits until you have optimal settings for it to capture with acceptable frame rate. That is good practice however on the user end, regardless of capture device used. Also, make sure you keep it's driver updated.
