I've enjoyed COD games from time to time too. I'm looking for another fresh multiplayer title with layers to enjoy alongside BF4. Is this a solid choice if you're a fan of COD? I remember TB liked it and several reviewers were impressed, but I tend to focus more on how real players engage with the game—whether they're fans or not. I'm especially curious about the depth and replay value over time. I liked Black Ops 2 but disliked Ghosts, so I'm hoping for something new and different.
I didn’t want to purchase it, but boredom pushed me to try it. I’ve played around 10 hours, with most time spent fixing playability issues. Mouse acceleration and double-tapping certain keys felt frustrating. Overall, I got bored.
And how long have you been playing it, huh? It’s quite easy to fix. The double-tap function has really helped me many times. I’m close to the prestige 4 tier and still feel engaged. I really enjoy this game—I like it a lot. The issue about mouse acceleration mentioned earlier is solvable (it’s actually pretty straightforward). The gameplay feels distinct from any other CoD title. If you can find it for around $30, I’d definitely purchase it. Totalbiscuit's review
It depends on your preferences—if you enjoy COD, it could be a must-buy; otherwise, skipping might be better.
I've played it for a bit, the last one I played being MW3. I love it, actually. A lot less pressure to do well than in Battlefield, which is what I personally despise about BF3/4. The campaign is purposefully over the top and it's great that way, to introduce you to the new mechanics. The multiplayer is fun and a nice take on a futuristic shooter. Controls are fluid, time to kill is reasonable and I just find it much more fun the BF due to the slightly arcade-y style. The graphics options are great and it's an all around well optimised game that looks great too. If you play for fun and not competitively, I'd definitely recommend it.
The issue with double tapping usually happens because users unintentionally press it more than once. Most people don’t keep the left or right arrow keys pressed while navigating. Occasionally they tap just to adjust around edges, which is really problematic. The setup clearly needs improvement.
