I'm still using this motherboard with its original BIOS and have encountered problems such as XMP not working with the 4 dimm slot. I'm considering an update to the latest BIOS just to check if it resolves the issue, but I want to be aware of any potential risks or warnings from others who have tried this version. Some Reddit posts mentioned instability with 4 dimm usage, which has made me hesitant. If you know of another BIOS version that might be more stable for this setup, let me know! Also, I lost track of the exact model—my board is a Z690 TUF D4 Plus with Wi-Fi.

It would be useful to know the specific motherboard, memory kit, and CPU you're referring to. ASUS offers a wide range of boards with various BIOS versions available, and each revision can perform differently. Generally, the newest revision tends to be optimal, but you can revert to an older one if needed. Sometimes BIOS updates may not improve everything and could even cause issues. I've noticed that certain updates can enhance one feature while harming another—like on my Z690 Unify-X, the A80 BIOS lets me run at 7600MT/s stably with manual settings, but it won't support XMP up to 6000MT/s CL30. On the other hand, the A91 beta BIOS allows XMP but struggles to reach above 6600MT/s with the same settings. There are many factors involved in choosing the best BIOS, and you haven't provided much detail. You'll also need to locate someone with the exact board and memory kit you're using, as compatibility can vary even for similar components. Finding someone who has tested different revisions and can share their experiences would be helpful, especially if you're looking to experiment yourself.

Right, sorry I forgot to include that in the title, it's TUF Z690 D4 PLUS WIFI My memory kits are Corsair Vengeance Lpx (3200), two set of 16 GB kits (not the best practice but guess I'll try my luck if the update can get it to work as it's a known issue to this model even if you use a single kit)
