Hello, I just began a new remote position and need to improve my internet setup. My home is large and outdated, lacking copper or fiber optic lines. No company is offering to install anything, so a wireless connection is the only viable choice. Right now I use a stationary ZTE MF286 router with a T-Mobile Poland SIM connected via Ethernet—clearly it’s not up to the task. You mentioned you’ve seen Linus using an external antenna to link his setup to an inside router; I’m curious about that approach. If there’s a similar method for my situation, I’d really appreciate suggestions. I’m comfortable with computers but completely new to networking, routers, and connections. Thanks for your help! Also, I’m based in Poland.

That describes a wireless P2P connection for sharing internet between properties via a wireless network instead of cables. If you know someone nearby with an internet link, that works. You’ll need a person with active internet access. Regarding LTE routers, the Huawei B316 performed well during my fiber wait and worked for six months; however, your service depends on mobile connection quality. Mobile internet (3G/4G/LTE) struggles not only with speed but also with latency. While 5G can handle latency issues, most areas lack reliable 5G coverage yet.

This manual aims to address your queries about connecting an outdoor antenna, though you may need a pricier mobile hotspot for optimal performance.

Starlink supports you (as a reliable option, pairing it with LTE for extra security)
