I would appreciate the community's suggestions to assist in identifying the right machine. The Dell Optiplex Micro could be the solution, but I'm unsure if the older generations can meet the second requirement listed below. Something like this:
Dell Optiplex 7050 Micro i5-7500T
Requirements:
1) Compact size - less than 10" x 4" x 10"
2) Ability to mirror the hard drive for backup in case of failure (speed isn't a priority)
3) Budget-friendly older model - under $200

the capacity to meet the second requirement in the list below So a RAID 1 array? 1| You've mentioned the X and Y axis, what about the Z axis? 2| I hope you've taken notes from this thread; Question - Can you mirror a M2 drive with a SATA drive? Im using a Optiplex USFF and would like to install new SSDs and create redundancy. This machine can accept a M2 drive and a Sata Drive. Is it possible to set up a RAID 1 configuration so that if one drive fails the other immediately takes over? Edit: TIME is my main concern. Downtime is a... forums. 3| You're sure you can't get a NAS?

I added a third dimension
2) Yes, I’ve reviewed it several times and it’s still unclear if the machine can manage this, so I’m reaching out for help from the community to find the appropriate device.
3) I understand what NAS is, but I’m not familiar with it. I’m open to suggestions, but I’d appreciate knowing if there’s a single machine that fits my needs.
