Hello everyone,
This is my initial post, I’m not sure if I’m in the right spot but here goes.
Recently, I upgraded my PC with a Ryzen 9 5950x and the MSI Mag Tomahawk max wifi motherboard. When I tried using my music software (Cubase), I encountered significant audio spikes even with just one soft synth and no effects.
Before installing any DAW, I followed what seemed like sensible steps—updating BIOS, unblocking the OS (Windows 11), turning off power-saving features like USB suspension, enabling the high power plan, installing the GPU using DDU and NVCleanInstall, silencing all other audio devices, disabling onboard audio, and adjusting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings in the BIOS. I also updated the latest Babyface drivers/firmware for the audio interface.
Running LatencyMon showed very low latency, except for a minor spike in the Nvidia driver (expected), which was still within acceptable limits. I stress-tested the CPU and RAM using OCCT, and everything ran cleanly—CPU temperatures never exceeded 60°C, and RAM stayed under 51°C.
I performed a Cinebench 10-minute multicore test alongside Ryzen Master, achieving 1356 points. This was below expectations since my CPU never surpassed 61°C. I also ran the command prompt system rating test, which reported poor performance for both CPU and RAM, suggesting an upgrade might be necessary.
I’m unsure whether the issue lies with hardware or the system settings, and I’m not sure what to do next. I hope someone can help me out before it’s too late! Thank you in advance.

What system were you using before the update? Did you restore Windows after the installation?

Earlier, I used a Ryzen 2600x motherboard with a Gigabyte B450 Ds3H board and an EVGA 500w power supply for RAM and GPU. After performing a clean installation of Windows, everything is set up correctly.

Your reported score of 1356 for single core with Cinebench R23 seems quite low for a multi-core stress test, especially given the higher numbers you mentioned.
Could you run another stress test on your CPU and verify temperatures in Windows Task Manager? Ensuring all cores are near full capacity would help confirm the situation.

There are 4 RAM modules installed. The command rate should be set to 2T. Command rate 1T is intended for configuring 2 modules.

I'll check the settings in the bios. It looks like only the final entry in the timing table uses xmp, possibly due to the command rate being set to one.

I have adjusted the settings to configuration T2. The following screenshot displays all four RAM modules from the CPU, with only the last slot visible in the timing tables—XMP should appear if all slots are shown.
