Hello, I'm analyzing these points about<|pad|>'s board. 1. Removing the 9900kf will it affect the block connection? 2. How does using a 2x8 16GB versus a 4x8GB improve over-clocking? I had a mix-up earlier, but now I understand the 4GB version works better. Thanks!

The mono-block design limits direct die cooling. For serious overclocking, two stick configurations are better as they consume less power, allowing more performance per DIMM. I think for extreme overclocking, avoid water-force boards since the mono-block setup is better suited for long-term overclocks and aesthetics. The Aurora Xtreme shares the same motherboard but lacks the mono-block, making it my preferred option if I'm aiming for XOC.

Thanks a lot, that really makes a big difference. I’ve got this setup on a stable 5.2 for bench testing and it’s been great, but I’m using it on my gaming PC too. Overall, I wish I’d chosen the EVGA Z390 Dark instead.

Integrated water-block solutions are unnecessary costs. You don’t need to chill the VRM or chipset with water; it’ll work fine with some case airflow, especially if the board is already high quality. For better results, consider ASRock Taichi or EVGA FTW paired with a direct-die CPU waterblock.
