I recently attempted to install additional RAM into my computer, but when trying to power it up there was no display of a signal. After removing the RAM, it emitted a beep and still showed no connection. I thoroughly cleaned both RAM modules, the slots, the GPU tabs, the GPU port, and tried the setup without any RAM, with one stick installed and another in all four slots, but the issue persisted. After watching a YouTube tutorial about this problem, I learned that reapplying thermal paste to the CPU might be necessary, though I’m unsure if it’s the right step and fear it could worsen things. My system is a Lenovo 3217 motherboard with a GTX 1650 Super, a Ryzen 5 3600X, and two DDR4 RAM sticks (8 GB and 16 GB) from the same brand, all matching specifications. I’m not certain about the BIOS settings since there’s no video output. Additionally, I have an x64 Windows installation that also doesn’t show much activity.
Search Lenovo's site for your device's beep code and read it carefully. This guide suggests you might need extra force if you're new to this process. Confirm the RAM is seated properly by aligning it with the slot, ensure all latches are open, and push until each side clicks. For a single-sided clip, try inserting the RAM into the side first before placing the DIMM. Firmly secure it.
