I received a new motherboard, the Asus Rog Strix b550-f gaming, and decided to enable the DOCP profile for my RAM Corsair Vengeance Pro (2x8GB, 3200MHz). Everything functioned properly when I booted into Windows 11 and ran benchmark tests with AIDA64. After a short gameplay session, the system froze abruptly—no blue or black screen, but the mouse wouldn’t move and the keyboard stopped responding. The lights stayed on. Performance varied across games, usually taking about five minutes to stabilize after launch. I’m confident the RAM isn’t the issue since it worked well on my previous Aorus board. I also ran MemTest84 with no errors detected. Everything seems fine without the DOCP profile, though my 5V sensor sometimes shows red when the voltage drops below 4.5V, which happens when I activate the DOCP setting.
Download Aida64 from the motherboard directory. Note clock speeds for 3200MHz. Run tests by turning off DOCP, adjusting frequency, voltage, and settings in BIOS manually. If standard timings fail, use default primary settings like 16-18-18-36.
For better performance, enable XMP simply for speed and memory efficiency. 🚀

Increase the voltage to 1.35v and observe the effect. DDR4 can handle 1.4V continuously without issues and should last a long time. I’m currently using 1.39v with my 3200mhz DDR4 RAM, and vDIMM won’t affect the board or CPU. Staying at 1.35v remains completely safe since JEDEC standardizes this speed for many DDR4 models.
That's significantly lower than expected, but it should work. When I installed a cheap PSU and attempted to run a Pentium E6600 on my P5Q, it immediately jumped to 2.03V and even started booting. I'm still unsure because I doubt my cooler can handle that much voltage. Running at 4.5V might impact storage, but it shouldn't interfere with the motherboard's voltage since regulators are built to manage varying inputs, at least according to what I've been told.
