Hello everyone, I'm experiencing an issue with my system when using the Corsair Dominator Platinium DDR4 RAM. It runs smoothly at 3200 MHz with 8x16Gb in quad channel on my ASUS Zenith Extreme X399 (CPU 1950X). I can handle four 16GB modules at that speed, but adding an extra four modules drops it to auto speed (2133) and the timings don't work. Even after manually adjusting BIOS settings like 3200, 1.35V, and specific timings, it won't boot. I've tried increasing the voltage by +0.05V up to 1.4V, but nothing happens. Anyone have any advice or had similar problems before? Thanks and stay safe!
It won't function properly. You'll only receive up to 2933 results based on my knowledge of this service.
Thanks for the prompt reply. Do you have any ideas about adjusting the voltage and timing for that fast pace? I’m currently working on a film and spent a lot of time trying to speed things up without success.
It seems the key concern is choosing between higher memory capacity and improved speed. As mentioned earlier, pushing the memory controller too far would require a lot of RAM to handle. If speed matters more, you can opt for slower RAM (like 2666) based on your previous settings for 3200, or go with faster RAM if possible. Generally, having more RAM tends to mean less reliance on it.
It's quite remarkable that a 64GB 3200C16 chip runs on 14nm Zen technology. Their memory controllers lag behind Intel's capabilities. With a 3000MHz clock speed, this configuration should automatically optimize itself if you just enable XMP and set the frequency accordingly.
