Halo Infinite - 6700k performance on GTX 1070
Halo Infinite - 6700k performance on GTX 1070
Are there others using the same configuration? I haven't adjusted this extra rig much. I'm curious about the FPS people are achieving in-game. My wife would likely play at 1080p. I've also boosted my CPU to a steady 4.7GHz. Thanks!
I'm testing at 1440p with a 2060 graphics card, an i5 10400f, and 16GB of RAM. I've experimented with various settings to understand what performs best for me. At this resolution, I can achieve around 90-100 frames per second in 4v4 if I lower most assets to medium or low quality, or a slightly lower FPS in the larger game mode with higher player counts. For the bigger matchups, visuals drop to about 75 FPS and 60 FPS respectively. The exact preference is unclear since the graphics aren't very impressive yet, but extra frames can be worthwhile if performance meets at least 60 FPS. The optimal settings depend heavily on resolution, personal tolerance for quality, and what you consider acceptable FPS. My recommendation is to focus on maintaining a solid FPS of 60 or above before prioritizing visuals.
The new setup works fine. Just didn’t refresh everything on the wife’s machine. Remember when Skylake left?
My system details are listed in the signature area below. I’m running a Ryzen 7 5800X with an RX 5700XT and 32GB of RAM. With the early driver for Halo Infinite, I achieve 60-70 FPS to 115-120 FPS consistently. The game played smoothly 99% of the time; only minor issues popped up occasionally. This setup doesn’t reflect well on Dice and E.A., especially with Battlefield 2042. It shows they clearly have no justification for the current state. Microsoft likely pushed multiplayer early to criticize E.A’s performance. I’d rather call it a “surprise mechanic” than a joke aimed at them. I don’t trust Bethesda, but I believe Microsoft is the best in technical game design. So here’s to Starfield!
Set the frame rate cap instead of letting it run infinitely. Unlimited can cause problems for me. I lowered it to medium on 1440p and maintained about 120 FPS in BTB. The game requires a driver from Nvidia urgently. 343 has been collaborating with AMD, so progress may be slow.
It was 3:04 AM in the medicine hat, and I just woke up to Halo infinite showing off. I had no idea what was happening. Jesus... downloading now.
