I agree, strange occurrences have happened recently. When I connected a faulty SATA cable to my HDD, everything worked again after reconnecting all the cables properly. Additionally, the SATA cables tend to loosen easily, so @SHG_Marsh, please open your computer and inspect all the SATA data and power cables. Remove them carefully and reinsert them fully.
I disconnected the cables, cleaned them with air, and then reconnected them. It functioned properly. Appreciate it.
