Currently I'm using an M1 Mac Mini. Next year I plan to upgrade to a more powerful machine once the options become available. I had some concerns about future upgrades and maintenance, so I went ahead and installed all the new features. It might not be the setup you're looking for, but since I rely on this computer for work, it makes the decision more important.

Regrettably the M1 Mac mini lacks external GPU capabilities. All present Apple Silicon models currently don’t include this feature, though many users hope for its addition. The latest model offering eGPU support is the 2018 Intel mini.
