Wow the setup looks solid: GTX 3060 Ti, i7-8700K, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 750W PSU, Z390 motherboard. I just got Red Dead Redemption 2 and followed a hub upgrade guide. Early in the snow game I was nailing over 100 FPS, CPU and GPU usage hovering around 80%. Some say my CPU shouldn’t limit the GPU, is this typical or something wrong? I’ve attached some images that don’t clearly show the bottleneck but convey the point. I’ll update this once back home to demonstrate the CPU reaching 100%. For reference, my Heaven benchmark averaged 5000 while GPU hit 99% and CPU stayed at 50% or lower. During the game I saw my GPU drop to 70% sometimes, but that’s normal too. Also, the in-game Red Dead benchmark was about 120 FPS on average. I’m not complaining about the FPS, just curious if upgrading is necessary or if I’m overreacting. Thanks for any advice!

If the chart of your CPU reached full capacity somewhere, I’d be in agreement. It’s handling the workload well, though I’m not observing a complete 100% utilization. This seems like a fairly even setup overall. What stands out is that it’s utilizing your HDD while your SSDs remain at zero percent. Edited January 14, 2022 by Bombastinator

I typically save all my games on my HHD, would that boost speed on the SSD? Also, yeah those photos aren’t ideal for it—I’ll get another one soon, though it’s not working. My CPU hits 99/100 and the GPU stays around 60s. The best I can do is dive deeper into the game to check if the issue continues.

It relies on the game's approach. Could be very useful or might not matter at all.

Keep going and observe how it works—I was suggested to check out this creator’s video that walks through all the options and shares the best choices, which could really clarify things for me.
