H60 Safe Temps?
H60 Safe Temps?
Hello, I'm checking if the CPU temperatures with your H60 are within safe limits. Your CPU is an Intel Core i5 4690k @4.4ghz/1.18V. After running Intel Burn Test on Maximum for 10 cycles, there were no failures and the temperatures reached a maximum of 83°C. Is this acceptable? If not, what steps should I take? Thank you.
the h60 (corsair h60?) might not be strong enough for your roleplay character, yet the temperatures you're experiencing are roughly what you'd expect—they're elevated, but you probably won't notice this during regular play or gaming unless you're doing video encoding or 3d rendering.
That's higher than I permit on my builds (I'm at 74C @ 4.6 Hz, 46 cache, 2400 mem, 1.385v) but I wouldn't worry too much unless it's seeing that for long sessions. Try RoG Real Bench .... it uses real life applications rather than synthetic tests.
The H55 provides a little less cooling than the Hyper 212 so don't expect a lot.

Yes, it's the Corsair H60. If you aim to bring these temperatures down to below 80°C, I’d recommend checking your cooling setup and possibly upgrading components. At 4.3GHz and 1.6V, it passed an Intel burn test on maximum for five cycles with a peak of 81°C. The reason for this is unclear, but you might want to explore ways to lower the temps while keeping the performance above 4.3GHz. Let me know if you need further guidance.
1.6v? I’m sure that was a correct type, and your vCore matches the 1.18v you mentioned earlier... Assuming you’ve applied the thermal paste properly, there’s little more you can do... Would an extra fan be needed? And how is the rest of your case cooling performing?
Think about it though—IntelBurnTest et al aren’t usual conditions... Maybe leave it and keep an eye on it during regular use to see how it behaves.
Yeah, it was meant to be 1.16. I think I'll just keep an eye on it now. I've heard a lot about issues with the h60 and was hoping I installed it right. It seems like this is just its limit. Thanks for the assistance.
