I’m hesitant now since I had a bad experience with the pre-order last year and it’s still in early access. Anyone have any suggestions?

It's another zombie survival game in early access. Don't invest your money. You won't get much value. Stay patient.

You might be thinking it doesn’t make sense to pay for testing, but waiting until the release could reveal better results.

Don't go after it. You're paying Sony to try their game. Yeah... no. It's not worth it for something that isn't original.

H1Z1 got a lot of excitement from Twitch streamers. Then I checked the graphics and thought, "Are you kidding me?" It doesn’t look good. Unless you’re up for playing, it’s not worth your time. But if you have friends to play with, you can still have fun in any game—just make sure there are plenty of people around. As a solo player: avoid using long sticks on it.

Wait for confirmation and testing before purchasing. Early access titles often don't deliver value.

You're wondering if you can keep the game once you purchase it. Since I bought early access, I understand it's meant to help fix bugs before launch. The experience won't be flawless, but owning the game when it releases should give you full rights without extra costs. If you buy now, you can test it out and become the owner at release. I'm new to early access Steam games, so this setup makes sense for me. I'm really looking forward to trying it, even though there are some server problems right now.

It's true, these issues often make the product difficult to use. Many users express frustration, feeling it wasn't ready for launch and expecting compensation.

The game is going to be free, and you're basically paying for an unfinished game. They don't have to finish it, so you're not guaranteed anything (pre-purchases in general). A few years ago YOU would get paid to test the game, now you pay the developer to TEST their game for bugs. It's backwards. That's like a mechanic paying you to fix your car because he enjoys fixing cars like you enjoy playing games.
