The full launch will be available for free play. You won’t need to give anything, but if you do, it’s only 20 dollars. Dayz was originally a mod. The developers were just experimenting before things took off. Sony studios are involved in developing the first version.
Look at a much wider range of content to make a well-informed choice. Right now it feels quite outdated in terms of visuals, though it’s not the main focus—still, they’re pretty disappointing. Plus, I wonder if this will just be another DayZ clone joining the crowded scene.
Have you seen the E3 demo videos? The group texture with moonlight and reflection looks really impressive. But when it comes to graphics in a game, online videos often lose quality. You can't really assess them properly. I think they probably look better than in the game itself. If you're into the game, you're definitely a fan!
