I purchased in late 2013, had my guardian set to 80, became bored and stopped. I attempted it again six months later by adding new characters but left soon after. I haven’t returned since and won’t plan to anymore. Probably the special nature of GW2 systems (every detail) didn’t really interest me.

The searching and fighting feel different now compared to when they were first released. I’m drawn to free-to-play but felt let down by ArcheAge’s MMO experience.

It's okay to try it since it's free. I appreciate the exploration system—it saves time by letting me skip talking to hundreds of NPCs for quests (except story) and gives side activities through world events. A few friends have come back or started new groups, and I used to run a big guild, though it eventually faded away. There aren't many download numbers either, so it might be worth a shot if you're interested. If not, feel free to skip it.

I purchased it when it was new and have been using it intermittently over the last three years. I mostly play Warrior and focus on PvE, with occasional WvW and Fractals. Recently, I haven’t played much because there’s nothing engaging left for us—we’ve completed dungeons, Fractals, caught up on Personal Story, upgraded gear, and finished map completion. Now all I can do is craft a legendary weapon, which requires too much time or gold that we don’t have. We’re also not keen on the expansion since the announced details don’t justify the $50 price tag. There have been many changes over the past couple of years, some positive and some less so. I think I’ll wait until late next year to play GW2, as Blade & Soul drops in Q1 2016 and my friends are already excited about it. By then, HoT will likely be cheaper, so I’d probably feel okay spending $25 instead of $50.

I prefer PvP over WoW. Questing isn't great, but I don't like PvE in games that mix PvP.

The PvP can be quite enjoyable even when I'm not skilled at it. I don’t play it as often as I should—believe it or not, I’ve managed about 600 kills there. I tend to prefer Warhammer 40k more than PvP, but our server isn’t great at it either. Haha. It’s a scenario where if a commander who really understands the game leaves, everyone scatters like headless chickens and we lose everything we set out to achieve.
