I love it. So my opinion is biased. Yes, it is fun. You should try it. The story is on going. Yes, there is end game content besides the story. World vs World is the best. I led my server to many victories when we were against all odds. I took the castle with only 20 players vs 150 and we won.
It really hinges on the situation, my friends. We all feel the end goal feels a bit short since we don’t enjoy competitive play, and the player-versus-player mode drops off once you finish the dungeons and fractals. Still, it kept me motivated for a while before there wasn’t much else to do unless you’re into PvP.
It's known as guild wars, centered around PvP or guild versus guild. At least in the early days, like in GW1, it was more engaging. I also faced some login problems, which still happen sometimes.
Their content is still pending, which is why everyone's eager for the expansion. In Guild Wars 1 they offered a much stronger endgame, otherwise they'd risk losing half their player base by concentrating only on PvP. I recall that game had features similar to fractals but with a higher level of challenge and satisfaction.
They have added a lot to the game since I was last one. Plus no monthly fee. I created a guild and my guild had 500 members in it which is max. The guild is abilities are lacking in the game but the expansion should add more to the game. I love the pvp side of GW 2.
