Guild Wars 2 available for £18 with endgame content included.
Hey everyone! I enjoyed playing GW2 during its free trial period and really liked the new features. Now that it's available for a reasonable price, it's worth checking out. The game progresses from level 1 to the maximum, and while it involves grinding, there are also rewarding progression elements similar to WoW. The content isn't just endless repetition—it includes engaging raids and challenges at higher levels.
It's not about raids at all; there are open-world bosses where the entire server community can join in. Some veteran dungeons rival raid difficulty in an MMO, but you're limited to five players per group. If you manage to play it affordably, it feels quite reasonable. The game offers a wealth of content compared to other titles on the market.
It sounds like you're thinking of a large-scale event where players gather to fight together, similar to raids in games like WoW. There aren't many official guilds for this kind of activity, but some communities organize their own challenges. It's a bit like the way people rally for events in other MMOs. I'm sorry if it seems like a big comparison!
It's quite similar to Sha of Anger, but everyone involved receives loot instead of just the chosen raid team. Those near the boss spawn will notify the whole map through chat when the boss starts appearing, typically after a few events—usually when someone mentions the spawn in chat. There are guilds too. Just avoid playing it like you would in WoW; treat it like any other RPG and enjoy the experience. If you manage to get the game, I can send you my in-game name and we can play whenever I’m available. I’m a level 80 Thief.
It feels more... enchanting than what most people discuss about raids or PvP and equipment. If that’s the case, I understand now.
I've been spending a lot of time playing GW2 lately, but I'll try to clarify. The game offers a deeper experience compared to titles like WoW. The quests are thoughtfully crafted to enhance immersion, making you feel genuinely involved. I haven't seen anyone engaging in roleplay, but solo play would let you fully absorb the atmosphere. Raid encounters are significantly more entertaining than those in WoW. Conversations about equipment are rare, except for discussing optimal builds and occasionally sharing impressive drops. The competition has shifted; no one hoards all the valuable items anymore since everyone gets random loot. By the endgame, the focus shifts from maximizing gear quality to prioritizing aesthetics. Just a note, the armor stats have been standardized. Items of the same rarity at level 80 will share identical numbers, though with variations in other attributes. For example, all Exotic 80 heavy armor pieces have a stat of 363, but one stat increases by 129 while others stay at 92 or similar. The game has removed much of the petty greed and annoying behavior typical of WoW's scene. I tried playing it the old way and found it difficult. Switching to a more familiar style like Elder Scrolls or Diablo made it much more enjoyable.
I plan to purchase it on Friday—just in case I don’t have time to enjoy it before then. What are you trying to say? Try to let go of excitement and stay open-minded.
WoW remains familiar, yet combat feels distinct from other RPGs. Initially, battles resemble many role-playing games, where damage depends on actual contact between weapon or projectile and target area. This creates varied tactics, such as dodging with a button press. There’s no mana system; spells simply have cooldowns. Comparable to Diablo, all attacks are area-of-effect. Combat offers more freedom, especially in evading threats. Exploration plays a bigger role, with rewards scattered throughout lakes, lakeside puzzles, and hidden chests.
Two lessons I wish I’d known early on:
1. Keep a high-quality salvage kit handy—items you can’t sell are worth keeping for crafting materials and “Essences of Luck,” which boost your Magic Find rate.
2. You don’t have to specialize in any one crafting skill; mining, foraging, or other trades all work, so always carry useful tools for selling at the market.
It would be great to purchase it soon—tomorrow or even today! Thanks for your assistance!
