I recently cleared my hard drive (keeping important files) from my old Xubuntu and switched to Windows 7. I installed it and everything functioned properly, including the graphics card. When installing audio drivers, the only one available for my laptop (A Novatop X10-TP) was 32-bit. Although I know my processor is an N450 and it should be 64-bit, I attempted to proceed anyway. After rebooting, I encountered a black screen. I removed the driver in safe mode, restarted, and everything returned to normal except for the audio driver still being missing. I checked the Micron website but couldn't find a suitable solution. I even tried reinstalling Windows 7, but it didn’t work. Anyone have any advice on where to get a compatible 64-bit audio driver? Yes, I can help with that. The audio chipset could be Realtek, Intel, or another manufacturer depending on your device.

The audio chip seems to require a 32-bit operating system.

But if this was true wouldn't the 32bit audio driver have worked? When I installed it the windows installation broke. I had to go into safe mode to fix it. When it was removed the system worked brilliantly. There is no audio section, but there is a network adapter section and under that is the following. 802.11 USB Wireless LAN Card Realtek RTL8102E/RTL8103E Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20) There is also a section that says Sound, Video And Game Controllers. Under this section in the following. High Definition Audio Device Any of this any help?

Check out the Ninite site (https://ninite.com/) and pick the K-Lite Codecs from their Media apps, then download the installer. Run it and see if it resolves your issue—though it might not work for everything, it helped me with audio driver problems on a Toshiba laptop in the past. Hope it assists you!

It activated during playback but then triggered an error. I believe I require a driver instead of a media player.

Yes, someone has ideas. What would you like to discuss?

The system runs a 64-bit version? Unfortunately this reminds me of the old LG laptop my dad owned before the GPU failed. The drivers only worked with a 32-bit OS, which came with the machine. I first tried the 64-bit edition of the same OS, but most of the drivers didn’t match the OS version. If you need audio to function properly, you might have to reinstall the whole operating system as a 32-bit version.

Uncertain if you grasp the K-Lite Codecs from Ninite.com will set up missing media runtime libraries that the Windows OS can't download on its own, and thus they're no longer compatible? Certain applications, such as Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13.0, depend on Quicktime to handle various file formats like *.mp4. Apple has stopped offering security updates for QuickTime for Windows since version 7.7.9 released on January 7, 2016. Additionally, on my previous system I own a Creative SoundBlaster soundcard, and the drivers must be installed manually from the Creative website. However, Windows updates keep reminding me that the sound card drivers still need fixing even though the driver files themselves haven't changed since 2012! Refer: Apple Ends Support for QuickTime for Windows; New Vulnerabilities Announced (April 14, 2014).

You expected better performance and compatibility since your system runs a 64-bit operating system.
