After observing Linus corrected by Buildzoid from the AHOC (Actual Hardcore Over-Clocking) channel, I decided to create a straightforward reference for RAM and memory timing details. This guide aims to assist those needing clarification on RAM speed specifications and how to interpret the clock cycle information displayed on memory modules. I've compiled a customized version of the RAM timing table with color-coded speeds (ns = nanoseconds). You can find the original Excel file here: RAM Timings.xls. A sample of the sticker layout is provided, showing typical RAM timing labels you might see online or in product listings. Wikipedia also offers clear explanations about memory timing concepts, including what each timing parameter means. NOTE: Command Rate (CR) is usually 1T or 2T; 1T is preferred for speed, though 2T is acceptable. This detail is generally less critical compared to other timing aspects. The CCT refers to the general clock cycles for the I/O bus connecting the RAM module and memory controller. It works with all these RAM memory timings {CL - tRCD - tRP - tRAS} and some hidden BIOS timing settings found in the advanced menu—though that topic deserves a separate discussion. Clock Cycles mainly applies to situations where you can't use Command Rate, which traditionally stands for either 1T or 2T. This means 1 clock cycle is quicker than 2, but timing constraints often allow using 2 cycles when necessary. The values listed between Clock Cycles on the sticker and MegaTransfers indicate the "True Speed" measured in nanoseconds.

As DDR5 RAM modules reach those high speeds, I’ll add more entries when needed. Currently, it should work until we hit speeds beyond what’s available now.
