Hey there. I just switched my 5800x to a new 5800x3d CPU and was curious about the performance boost from moving my MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK WIFI MAX to a better x570 board. I’m also using an rx6800 xt GPU and a 2TB WD Black SN850X M.2 NVMe SSD for gaming. Would upgrading the motherboard really make a difference, or is my B550 capable? Thanks for your help!

The B550 is a durable board that supports any of the 5xxx chips. I'm also using a B550 with my x3d chip.

Was der Upgrade auf den 5800x3d sinnvoll? Ich habe nur 100 Dollar für den 5800x bezahlt...

It varies based on the game, resolution, and your hardware capabilities. Personally, I wouldn’t have spent it that way. Even with a properly configured system, I’d prefer using it for an update instead.

A decent B550 board is more than enough for a 5800X3D. You wouldn't want to spend more if you already have a solid setup with two 16GB 3200/3600 RAM modules.
