Guide for Windows 8 Support
I recently completed my first PC build and attempted a clean install of Windows 8 Pro for students. I managed to transfer it to a USB drive without any problems, and after booting up smoothly, I assumed the installation was successful. However, Windows refused to accept my product key. As a beginner, I wasn’t aware that installing a Windows Pro version on a new hard drive—especially an SSD—is not permitted. I contacted support, who generously issued a refund for my purchase. Now I’m seeking guidance on which versions support clean installs and how to properly uninstall my current Windows 8 Pro.
I believe I discovered the solution. You might want to check out this link: http://lifehacker.com/5984278/how-to-do-...grade-disc
All updates support a fresh installation. The key may correspond to different W8 versions such as Enterprise, Pro, or Home.
Using different ISO versions can cause problems, especially between Windows 8 and 8.1. You won't be able to apply a 8.1 install file to an 8.0 setup.
