Keep the laptop tidy rather than lowering its clock speed. Dust blocks every part, not just the processor—eventually a cap or dust trap will get too hot and fail.

I cleaned the laptop and added a new thermal compound, but the cooling solution isn't working well. I'm considering lowering the voltage if it helps.

People often misguided ideas about lowering a laptop's CPU voltage. Many issues can arise from this practice. CPUs can already adjust their voltage under certain conditions. Reducing the main power supply will also bring the lowest power mode down, potentially causing instability and even stopping fans or damaging parts. When a laptop was designed to run cooler, inspect and clean it. Apply quality thermal paste if needed. While removing the heatsink, clean the contact surfaces with a cleaner or alcohol. For GPUs, remove old paste and replace it. Without careful handling, you risk harming the device.

I frequently experienced temperatures near 80 to 90 degrees Celsius. At times, this led to my laptop shutting down. Appreciate your assistance. Your response was very useful.
