Nvidia has handled several major titles well and shared update tips with fans. I think I once saw a mention that the author of TweakGuides also created guides for Nvidia. Now look at this link: http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/guides/...ance-guide

I dropped my 290x to 30 frames per second using reduced graphics options and boosted everything that improves your frame rate.

Most adjustments apply to all GPUs and aren't exclusive to Nvidia.

I’m planning to test the optimization with a light touch—usually settling on 20 points and then going back. 😄

With dual 7950's, the automatic tuning performed poorly

It generally holds true. It depends on user preferences, but the GTA5 optimization performed quite well for me. I adjusted some settings to quality and others to lower, which helped boost performance from around 40+fps to 60+. Visually, the graphics quality difference wasn't noticeable, though comparing side by side would confirm it. Likely the reason is the high number of players using similar settings.
