Do you have cgnat enabled? The server must be accessible through your local network. Provide the internal host and internal port for the window.

What IP address were provided and did it fall within any of these ranges? 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255 172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255 Also, according to @Electronics Wizardy, you must enter the internal IP of the host in the Internal Host field and set 25565 in the Internal port field.

External host remains blank, internal host shows a fixed IP address, external port lists the connection number your friends will use. Internal port indicates the server's local network port. Port scanners might fail to show open ports if the server doesn't respond, suggesting a possible issue on the server side.

For the standard MC server, follow @Windows7ge's advice and set the internal port to 25565.
