I'm not sure how I'm using an AMD system. With an Intel setup I can easily increase the CPU's overclocking limits by raising the boost settings. Done. But I've been checking my BIOS and experimenting with it, and I realized it's not that straightforward on AMD. Certain features are limited. I found out that PBO offers various configurations. There are also two additional settings in PBO that I'm trying to understand. I noticed that using the Prime 95 blend gives a full-core boost of 4.1GHz, while Prime 95 Small FFT only gives 3.8GHz. That's due to AVX and the chip's power constraints at the time. My goal is to raise the overall core boost slightly without overloading the processor. I know AMD chips don't have the same flexibility as Intel, but I'm just after a modest increase.

The processor is a Ryzen model, with varying optimal configurations based on its generation. The motherboard and RAM specifications are available upon request.

Sorry about that. I missed that detail. The system runs a Ryzen 7 3700X with an MBPIO MSC B550 gaming edge, Wi-Fi, and 32GB of Kingston Hyper X Fury RGB RAM at 2x16GB with 3200MHz.

I don’t really focus on PBO overclocking, so I can’t assist directly. However, here’s what you should know for an all-core boost. A 3700X typically reaches about 4.3GHz overall, with 4.4GHz being the top achievable without a custom loop. Some premium chips hit 4.5GHz, but it depends on the chipset. Keep core voltage under 1.4V, ideally around 1.375V or lower to prevent issues. For the SOC, limit voltage to no more than 1.2V—around 1.15V is better. Make sure your board’s BIOS is up-to-date before you begin. Monitor temperatures using tools like HWiNFO64.

Thanks for the details. Those numbers were exactly what I needed. For the rest, it makes logical sense. I’ll give it a shot and check out what I can achieve. By the way, I already have hwinfo64 installed on my system—I’m confident in it. The goal is to add a bit more value. I’ve got 32 gigabytes of RAM and a 3700x processor for a reason. I create my own electronic dance tracks—short loops, extended mixes, and full-length projects using my own equipment. When you tackle a large project with lots of samples, loops, beatboxing, and synths, the 32GB feels quite limited. I’ve even filled it up before. The same applies to my CPU; running big projects at runtime hits all 16 threads and still struggles. That’s why I’m constrained by the size and complexity of each mix I produce with my hardware.

I'm not confident that setting the chip to 4.4GHz will fix your stuttering problems, though it should improve performance significantly. Enjoy the overclocking!

Just launch Ryzen Master and raise the EDC limit. Based on the temperatures, you should see faster boost speeds without extra steps. Sharing your system details would really assist you further.
