Hello,
I'm completely new to overclocking, so please be patient. Let's start. I want to boost my CPU from the stock 3.0ghz to at least 3.5ghz to improve FPS in CSGO. However, when I adjust the BIOS settings, I encounter issues such as not booting at first but then booting smoothly after a few attempts, and I also experienced a screen freeze that requires turning off the system to restart.

I suspect this might be related to my PSU since I'm using a standard 500-watt power supply from my case. Please check my specifications with CPU-Z for more details.

My motherboard is an Emaxx MCP-61D3 iCafe, and I found that updating the BIOS isn't possible there. Also, I think the BIOS settings might be incorrect, which could be causing the problems.

Additionally, my CPU temperature is stable at 25°C when idle, 45-55°C under load, GPU around 42°C idle, and 60-65°C under stress. Is this an issue with my RAM or should I consider upgrading my PSU? Thank you for your assistance!

Be sure to clean the 95w athlon since the 6850 can consume up to 275w.

Yes, replace your PSU. Any generic PSUs likely awful and not good for OC. A bad PSU can set your system on fire. For that CPU, should keep 60c at all times. A stock cooler isn't going to be any good for OC. What are you using for the GPU? 3.5 ghz is very high for that CPU. You won't be able to reach that with stock cooler and terrible PSU. That is an old CPU, OC'ing won't help much in modern games. Best to save for a low budget system than to spend money on this. (A good PSU can carry over to your next build) Follow the guide below to OC your system, (pic links are broken due to age, just read.) http://www.overclock.net/t/777378/offici...ny-smileys

Benjiwenji: Yes, change your PSU. Any generic ones will probably be bad for overclocking and not suitable for OC. A poor PSU can cause your system to overheat. For that CPU, try keeping 60°C at all times. A regular cooler won't work well for OC. What GPU are you using? A 3.5 ghz is quite high for that CPU. You won't be able to hit that with a stock cooler and a bad PSU. That's an older CPU, OC won't make much difference in modern games. It's better to save for a cheaper build than waste money here. (A decent PSU can be useful for future projects) Follow the guide below to OC your system, (the links are broken because of time, just read.) http://www.overclock.net/t/777378/offici...ny-smileys I mean even if you have at least 3.3 or 3.4ghz, I already have an extra PSU – Corsair VS450 with 500 watts. Will that do the job? My processor is running fine, I just need a bit more FPS for some games, which aren't modern anyway. I'm also planning to buy a Corsair CPU cooler, so I'll need the right setup/timings since I'm new to OCING. Thanks!

You're asking about the GPU you're using, and whether adjusting your CPU could affect performance. The recommended setup is the VS450, and you've referenced an article for more details.

Benjiwenji:
What GPU are you employing? It depends if you're changing your CPU or not.
Try the VS450 and check that article I shared.
Right now I have a SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6850 with 1GB PCI-E.

Be mindful of using the 95w athlon with the 6850, as it can draw up to 275w. Should this imply needing a larger power supply, perhaps one with 600w capacity?

Not necessarily. Just keep in mind that you don't have too much head room.
