GTX780 - Watch Dogs configuration options
People, how do you track your frames per second? I turned on Precision X and OSD, but no stats show up. It works—information appears in Counter Strike Source, yet disappears in WatchDogs. I adjusted frame buffering to 1, textures at high settings, and followed the guidelines from Nvidia (first post). The game feels smooth now, though it still stutters during intense action. Right now it uses about 2130.5MB of my 16GB RAM.
I employ shadowplay techniques. Launch Open GeForce Experience, navigate to the Preferences section, select Shadowplay, and you'll see an FPS counter displayed. Have you installed the mod? It significantly boosts performance and eliminates most stuttering issues.
I altered Watch_Dogs prior to the update meant to resolve the issue. As Slick mentioned during a WAN broadcast, it not only improved performance but also eliminated the random frame drops. However, I’m uncertain if the modification functions with the latest patch. If a newer version exists, could someone share a link? That way I might try playing again.
Hello, the mod you installed is working well overall. The game runs smoothly, though I did notice a noticeable depth of field issue. Did anyone else see this problem, or have you resolved it? Or does SweetFX actually improve it? Please share some screenshots—I'm aiming for crisp details but the surroundings look blurry. Also, I can turn on Shadowplay, but I was able to record footage in Counter-Strike Source; however, Watchdog doesn't capture it and doesn't display FPS.
The RivaTuner added to Precision X isn't compatible with 64-bit titles. The developer was reportedly compensated by MSI to keep the same overlay available only with MSI Afterburner. Despite their differences—MSI logo versus EVGA logo—the two tools function identically, but one includes an MSI emblem and the other an EVGA one. For 64-bit support, you must use the latest beta of MSI Afterburner. The overlay also provides extra capabilities, such as tracking CPU performance alongside GPU metrics. According to RivaTuner's creator, updates for the EVGA Precision version won't be extended until December, and a separate standalone release exists but lacks 64-bit functionality.
These moments feel really tense because the subject I'm targeting looks sharp, while the rest of the scene fades into the background.
