Gtx1060+ram oc
Hey
I have an ASUS GTX1060 with 3GB RAM and a Kingston Hyper X Beast 16GB at 1333MHz. Everything is stock. I'm using an Intel i5-6600K. My motherboard can't overclock the CPU, but I'm hoping to upgrade to the GTX1060 and the 16GB Kingston RAM soon. Then next month I plan to replace the motherboard with one that supports the CPU. Can I upgrade the GPU and RAM at the same time? I've noticed FPS drops in games like BF1 and PUGB, or should I wait until the CPU is overclocked first? Also, I'm thinking about switching the RAM to a Hyper X Fury 1866MHz 16GB. Should I aim for more stable FPS or keep it as is?
Thanks for the help.
What resolution are you using? If it's 1080p at 60hz, and you're running with high in-game settings, the issue likely lies in the 3gb of VRAM, not in the system RAM or memory speed. At that resolution, these games tend to require more RAM than your current setup allows. When they reach their limit, the game stutters and FPS drops. I wouldn't invest in a new graphics card and RAM right now. Upgrading your CPU or RAM wouldn't help either. You should think about upgrading your platform instead—consider a new CPU, RAM, or a dedicated GPU and free up some components from your existing system.
Ich habe vermutlich eine 1070 6 GB Festplatte. Vielleicht probiere ich das dann aus. Ich strebe eine Auflösung von 1080p bei 60 Hz an.
The GPU runs at 60 to 70% on BF1 high quality 1080p, never reaching 100%. This happens because it's never at full capacity.
This is most similar to GPU utilization, not VRAM usage. You can configure MSI afterburner OSD to display both GPU and VRAM stats. Test it out.
In short, if you're using a GTX1070 with 8GB, it will outperform the GTX060 with 3GB.
