I purchased a used GTX 980 and was initially impressed. I achieved over 260 fps in Overwatch with all settings low, but now it's dropping to around 200-220 fps. In Battlefield the numbers are similar. Previously, I got about 120 fps at low settings, now it's only about 100 fps. Could anyone explain what's happening?

i5-4690k running at 4.4ghz with 16GB RAM paired with HyperX RAM GTX 980 and a 750W PSU from Corsair. Basic setup—Spotify, Chrome, and Teamspeak are the only things running.

It makes sense. I’m familiar with someone earning around 980,000 each month and managing those FPS fluctuations in Overwatch during intense team battles.

You require 200fps in Overwatch because it ensures smoother visuals, especially at higher frame rates. Vsync is a simpler option if you prefer that level of performance.

Overwatch becomes more challenging with extended play sessions. The issue seems to have appeared recently, especially on my 970.

Spotify consumes a lot of processing power. Close your browser when using it. Also, i5 processors struggle more than i7 or Ryzen in Overwatch.
