The 740m is a notebook gpu. Notebooks aren't designed for overclocking since they lack proper cooling systems. There isn't a single optimal setting because each chip behaves differently—some might only reach a few MHz, while others could hit 300 MHz. However, it's generally not advisable to push anything beyond stock performance in a laptop. The built-in cooling is meant to manage everything at normal speeds, and on some machines it performs even better than expected. My gaming laptop reaches up to 85°C for both CPU and GPU, which clearly indicates that overclocking would lead to overheating.

The built-in cooling is meant to manage performance at normal levels, and some laptops don't even perform well under those conditions. My gaming laptop reaches up to 85°C for both CPU and GPU, which would definitely cause overheating if pushed further.

Thank you for the clarification. I adjusted my overclock to 386 without issues, and the temperature reached nearly 87°C after two hours of CS:GO.
