Gtx 1070
Corsair 650w psu
Ryzen 3 3100
I purchased my PC about four months ago, it functioned perfectly for the initial two months. Then it began experiencing random problems where the screen would shut down and the fans would increase to maximum speed. These occurrences happened unpredictably, sometimes an hour after use or sometimes within fifteen minutes.

Recently, the issues have intensified. Now, when I launch Windows, the system prompts me to "please power down and connect the PCIE cables." If I leave the PC off for a few hours, I can access the BIOS before the screen turns off and the fans reach their maximum setting.

Additionally, the VGA light remains on and the motherboard indicator stays illuminated after turning off the PC.

I have attempted various troubleshooting steps except replacing the PSU or GPU, as neither is accessible. My temperatures and voltages in the BIOS are normal. I recently updated the BIOS, but it didn’t resolve the problem. The PCIE cable is properly connected. I’ve tested other PCIe ports.

My guess is either the PCIE cable is damaged or the GPU may have failed. Any advice would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Gtx 1070
Corsair 650w psu
Ryzen 3 3100
Corsair is the brand of the PSU while 650W is the advertised wattage of the unit. We're going to need it's model.
On second thoughts, please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.
Bought my pc around 4 months ago, it was working great for the first 2 months then randomly started having issues where the screen would turn off and fans would speed up to max
Your system specs tell me as though you'd bought this system used, meaning it's new to you but was used prior to you.

Thank you!
Processor: Ryzen 3 3100
Cooler: AMD stock cooler
Motherboard: Aorus B450 Elite
RAM: 16gb Corsair Vengeance
SSD: 1tb Crucial SSD
GPU: Asus GTX 1070 8gb
Power Supply: Corsair 650w CV series
Case: Deepcool case not confirmed for this model
Operating System: Windows 11
Monitor: LG 22in 60Hz
The power supply age wasn’t found anywhere, but the code shows Cp-9020236.
BIOS version: f67g, March 11 2025
Your system details suggest it was previously owned and used, though it was functional for more than two months before the problem began.
Yes, I purchased it used; the previous owner was reliable and confirmed the PSU is nearly new, and the PC performed well for over two months until this issue arose.

Also I just powered on my PC and it remained on for nearly a minute before shutting down once more, which is the longest duration it has stayed on recently. Additionally, the red VGA indicator was off for the first time, and the motherboard light also turned off after I powered off the computer.

I purchased my PC about four months ago, and it functioned perfectly for the initial two months. After that, problems began intermittently—screen would shut down abruptly while fans increased to maximum speed. These occurrences happened unpredictably, sometimes an hour after use or as soon as 15 minutes later. Recently, the situation has intensified; now it occurs immediately when I launch Windows, and the PC prompts me to “please power down and connect the PCIE cables.” If I leave the machine off for a while, I can access the BIOS before the screen cuts out and fans reach full speed. The system operates normally with integrated graphics. Also worth mentioning is that the VGA indicator remains lit and the motherboard light stays active even after turning off the PC—something that didn’t happen previously.

I have attempted various troubleshooting steps, except for replacing the power supply unit or GPU, as I lack access to those components. My temperatures and voltages in the BIOS are within normal ranges. A recent BIOS update did not resolve the issue. The PCIE cable is properly connected, and I’ve tested other PCIe ports.

Any additional suggestions would be appreciated.

The PSU age isn’t clear from the information, though the model code is Cp-9020236.
