Hi, I just received a brand GTX 1070 Asus Strix ROG OC edition and attempted overclocking for the first time. It functioned well for a couple of days but now it’s causing crashes. I checked this guide here: https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.ph...king-Guide. I’m wondering if these crashes are because my PSU isn’t providing enough power to the GPU. I have this PSU available: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.asp...6817207013. Additionally, I’m playing Battlefield 1 at maximum settings and generally get over 100 FPS, but sometimes it drops to around 50 FPS in certain maps with rain or similar conditions. With an i5 4690 and 16GB RAM, is this a normal occurrence?

Question if it's just the PSU, but more than enough power.

These frame rates are unfortunately typical.
I'm using an i7-6700k and normally get 150fps, but occasionally it drops to 110.
The crashes seem more related to settings rather than the power supply.

Question the power source, it's more than enough.
I'm unsure whether to feel relieved or not.

These fps drops are unfortunately typical.
I'm using an i7-6700k and usually hit 150fps, but occasionally fall to 110.
It seems crashes are more likely due to settings rather than power supply issues.
Could you tell me what settings you're using?

Bernardo Freitas shares his experience with the drops. He uses an i7-6700k and usually sees 150fps, but sometimes it falls to 110fps. He suspects crashes are due to settings rather than power supply issues. He asks for more details about the relevant game settings and the monitor he uses.

Does it occur when you don't use your card?
If it doesn't --> the oc isn't functioning. Experiment with different oc settings.
When it does --> either a defective GPU or a faulty mainboard.

Appreciate your prompt reply. Could you tell me what settings you’re using on your GPU and in-game?
Also, what monitor are you using and what resolution is set there?
It’s an Acer GN246H, 144hz, with a 1ms response time. I’m playing at 1920x1080.

If it does --> likely a GPU or mainboard issue.
No, this hasn't happened when I'm not using OC. So the card seems fine?

Certainly it could be the card, but it doesn't fail when it runs smoothly without overclocking, and you can't return it for exchange since it won't work.
