GTX 1060 down clocking itself?
GTX 1060 down clocking itself?
I own an Asus Dual OC GTX 1060 with 3GB memory and 140 cores plus 600GB RAM. It consistently lowers its clock speed during the Unigine Valley benchmark. Initially, it maintains around 2100 MHz at 55°C for the first 30 seconds. After that, it reduces to 2088 MHz at 65°C. Towards the end, it drops to 2063 MHz while running at 75°C. My power settings are set at 116% and temperature at 92°C. Fans operate on auto mode.
Behavior is completely normal based on what I've observed and feedback. Although your power and temperature targets are high for OC, these cards will begin to lose clocks once they exceed 60°C. The only solution is to maintain temperatures below that threshold. I don't notice this with my watercooled 970s since their boost remains steady, but they never surpass 45°C.
