Without the additional power connector, you're already hitting the 75W PCIe limit. Any voltage boost will raise the power consumption there. This could endanger the memory even though you have cooling to handle a GPU overclock. The card is already overclocked, so I agree with this assessment. If you manage to get a bit more at the normal voltage, that would be the safer option.
