Alright so I'll get straight to the point, ive recently upgraded my pc to be future proof, I had a setup of fx 6300 and r7 250x 1GB , and i played Ark Survival and GTA V as my two most demanding games, my new pc which is a g4560 and 1050 2gb run ark better but Gta worse, i get a constant 99 - 100% cpu usage and texture pop in accompanied by massive lag unless i set it to high priority, which then makes all my other applications lag and its really bothering me, is there any fix for this or did i actually downgrade?

G4560 and a 1050 is very far from future proof. There's no such thing as future proof. It's not too surprising though, is it? The CPU only has 4 threads, and the card you have only has 2GB of video memory. What settings are you trying to run at?

I was thinking about improving performance in the future instead of being limited by FX. I'm using a combination of normal, high settings, which keeps my frame rate steady at 55-60 FPS. The FX works well at the same settings without overloading the CPU or using a weaker GPU.

CPU and GPU handle different tasks. Those extra cores could have performed better. Still, with that GPU I’d expect low to medium performance for a smooth run. How does it behave when you reduce the settings?

I lower the settings to the baseline GTA V version, but it still consumes around 99-100% CPU. If I had to describe it, it would be an extreme downgrade.

Your games might have automatically switched to your built-in GPU. Verify the NVIDIA Control Panel and adjust which graphics card is selected for the games.

It seems like you're questioning whether the issue is with the CPU. Could you clarify what you're experiencing?

I'll look into it later, okay. It looks like the CPU is slowing down your system. I'd suggest lowering your graphics settings in-game—especially draw distance, pedestrian variety, and density, which tend to use the most CPU power—or consider upgrading your CPU.

Hyperthreaded i3s and Pentiums often struggle significantly in GTA.

Among all the buzz about the g4560, I thought I was getting a decent upgrade. Maybe it's time to consider a more affordable AMD option as well.
