I joined a lobby and planned to complete some missions. Someone messaged me in voice chat, inviting me to his high-end apartment. He said "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA" and money bags appeared on my head, giving me $10 billion. I realized it would be banned soon. He was also chasing me while spawning more money on my head. EDIT: That person sent me a friend request, and a hacker also sent one! What does he want from me?
You won't be banned. I've interacted with many hackers offering free money.
I wasn't penalized. A friend gifted me 18 billion in games, and neither I nor most of my friends were affected. Rockstar seems unfazed. If you face a ban, it should last no more than two weeks, and the only loss would be your funds.
You risk losing everything and getting either your original funds back or a fixed sum. All associated items will be taken away, so you’d need to reach out to r* for the optimal outcome or hold on and hope for removal. And if that fails... is it really free money?
