GTA V MSAA, textured dots, frame rate drops, Vsync enabled
Hey there, what’s up? I’m experiencing some stuttering in Windows 10 version 10130 that I don’t see in Windows 7 SP1. It’s linked to how the system shares memory with WDDM 2.0 drivers. I’m fine using non-WDDM 2.0 drivers in Windows 10, and I haven’t applied the newest updates yet. I just came back from a vacation and plan to try the latest builds tonight. It might be that the new versions eliminate this issue. System memory sharing happens when integrated GPUs run low on dedicated VRAM—usually causing performance drops, like falling to around 10 frames per second in games such as GTA V. That’s the problem I’m describing. Also, the NVIDIA Control Panel shows a total graphics memory of 10,255 MB, but DxDiag reports about 12,088 MB. This inconsistency points to a WDDM 2.0 glitch. I’ll keep testing later; hopefully the upcoming updates fix this bug, especially for SLI setups in DirectX 11.
