GTA V Memory leak issue
GTA V Memory leak issue
Hi, my FPS is okay when playing games. But after 15-30 minutes the game starts to slow down because of a memory leak. The RAM usage jumps from 4GB after the loading screen to 7.5GB after 10-15 minutes, and the VRAM also shows a memory leak issue. This problem appears in GTA 4 as well. However, I haven’t experienced this in any other game except these two titles. I’ve played Dying Light, Beamng Drive, Resident Evil 4 UHD, Dead Island Definitive Edition, Far Cry 4,5 and more. I’ve tried many solutions—used Windows 8.1, switched to Windows 10, updated the graphics drivers from 375.63 to the latest 425.36 for GT750. My laptop specs are: GT750 (4GB DDR3), 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM, i7-4702mq CPU, HP Envy 17. I know my hardware isn’t great, but in GTA 5 my FPS stays stable at 60. I don’t think it’s a power issue.
There is nothing an end user can do if there is a memory leak. Memory leaks are coding errors.
All you can do is get different software. That might mean a game patch or a driver.
That is an old enough laptop, that a fresh OS install might be a good start. It has had many years of patches and downloads that could hide the problem.
That is probably where I would start.
I just put in Windows 10 and updated the graphics drivers, but nothing changed. Appreciate your help.
