Hey everyone. Let's break down what's going on with your setup. You're running a pretty standard configuration: i5 2400, 8GB DDR3, MSI RX 480, 4GB GPU, Antec HCG 520W PSU, and a Seagate Barracuda HDD. You play GTA V in 1080p with advanced graphics off, grass quality off, MSAA disabled, and similar settings turned on except for a few.

During online play, your game stutters and FPS drops to 35-40, which is unusual. It also happens during story mode benchmarks. I'm curious—could it be the RAM or the CPU? Your CPU temps hit 78-80°C even with the stock cooler, while other games like Witcher 3, Rainbow Six, and Far Cry Primal run fine. What's happening here?

It seems the RAM and CPU are likely the issues. I've heard GTA V can leak RAM heavily. My system uses the same CPU, and I notice FPS dropping in Battlefront, which is very well handled.

I once played GTA 5 Easy with just 8GB of RAM. The processor seems to be limiting performance.

You're planning to boost your system by adding 12GB RAM and an i7-3770K in about a month. This should definitely help improve performance, especially if you're running demanding applications or games.

I was just joking around. Not sure if using just one channel RAM is better or worse. @Coltonw023456 is facing the same issue, but with an i5-1170K and 12GB RAM. The i7 should definitely make a difference.

I don't believe the 3770 fits your board. Honestly, it could make sense to put money into a fresh system instead. r5 1600, 16GB RAM, B350 MMO.

I'll use one 4GB stick and another 8GB stick. My ASRock H61MGS board should handle the third generation, I believe.
