GTA V experiences a decrease in FPS during nighttime hours.
Hi, I noticed your FPS fluctuates a lot in offline mode of GTA V. You stay steady around 60 fps during the day but drop noticeably at night with 5-10 fps reductions. Your system is new and the GPU seems aged, though you’re using VisualV base files without reshade or ENB, plus some vehicle and prop addons. The specs look solid—your monitor is a high-end model, and your PC should handle the game well if drivers and Windows are up to date. No background apps running. If the issue persists, try closing other programs, updating drivers again, or switching to a different GPU if possible. Let me know what you try!
It happens to me naturally, and I’m pretty sure it’s just the game.
I was taken aback by how high the traffic and population were. Would a standard version with lower density, around 50-60%, work better?
Yeah, me too. Another thing I forgot to mention is. Those drops only occurs when looking at city from distance, like from Franklins vinewood house or any other higher spot. Will post a video as soon I can.
It seems you're suggesting the game focuses on areas similar to loading zones during cycles, causing lag while you examine those spots. The issues are minor glitches that could be easily resolved with better optimization.
The night shadows are what slow things down; reducing them will help everything work smoothly.
