I noticed GTA V on 1080p still shows aliasing even with 8x MSAA. What works best is enabling frame scaling mode at 1.75, using 2x MSAA and TXAA now. I don’t see any aliasing and it gives higher FPS while using less VRAM than 1.00 with 8x MSAA.

Frame scaling is distinct from supersampling or downsampling. You can find its settings in the application's configuration options, often under graphics or display preferences.

With your Nvidia graphics card, you can turn on MFAA which will swap out MSAA. I do this and then apply FXAA on top of it.

I plan to turn them on and check further tomorrow (do you enable it via the NVIDIA control panel, correct?). FXAA seems ineffective to me—it just makes objects blur to give the impression of smoothness.

For Unity, this guide covers Assassin Creed Unity graphics and performance tips. It explains the same techniques across platforms. Just experiment and check how it appears. I combined MFAA and TXAA, but chose FXAA for comparable visuals.

It seems odd at first, but they might improve it soon. Right now it isn't fully polished, so you need to turn it on yourself rather than expecting it to work perfectly out of the box. Still, it performs its intended function.
